Specialist in Spanish Judaica bibliography and author of several catalogues and articles on the subject. He has coordinated seminars, courses and exhibitions about diverse aspects of the Sephardic world and the history of the Jews in the contemporary Spain. He is the coordinator of the «Jornadas Sefardíes de la Rioja» (Sephardic Days in La Rioja) since its first edition in 1999. He is a member of the editorial committee of Raíces, Revista de Cultura Judía (Journal of Jewish Culture) since its foundation in 1986. He was the director and founder of the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Jewish History of the Jewish Community in Madrid (2007-2008). Press Officer of the Israeli Embassy in Spain since 1990.
He is the author of Biblioteca española de judaica (1987, 1991, 1993, …, 2011), Guía española de bibliografía judaica (1992), La cocina judía: Leyes, costumbres, … y algunas recetas sefardíes (2003), De buena tinta: 150 años de prensa en ladino (2008), El libro de Ruth en lengua española: Versión ladinada de Londres, 1731 (2013), Palabra por palabra: Biblias sefardíes en ladino en una colección madrileña (2014), and Contra judíos: Libros antijudíos en una España sin judíos (2016), among other books and articles. He is also the co-author of The Jews and Europe: 2000 Years of History (1994 and republished in 2005 in pocket edition) with Elena Romero, and with Jacobo Israel Garzón he published La comunidad judía de Madrid: Textos e imágenes para una historia, 1917-2001 (2001).
Among the institutional positions that he has held have been that of the General Secretary and Cultural Affairs Deputy of the Jewish Community of Madrid (2001-2008) and vocal of the permanent council of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Spain (2007-2011)
